17u Astros Win PG SE World Series

East Cobb Astros 17u Claim Trophy with Win Over Canes Southeast 17u

17u World Series had yet another competitive year here at a completely renovated East Cobb Baseball facility. Competitive baseball ensued and many were eager to get back on the field and playing day in and day out as we have been so accustomed to over the years. East Cobb Astros ended up taking home yet another title over a solid Canes Southeast ball club.

Canes Southeast got the scoring going early as they put up a run in the top of the first that was due to some untimely errors and lackadaisical defensive baseball. Eli Runyan reached on an error and ultimately ended up scoring. The East Cobb Astros woke up in the bottom of the first as Termarr Johnson reached base and went on to score from a base knock by Joe Mack. The scoring didn’t end there as Canes Southeast walked a few batters and then Christian Moore tripled to right field and knocked in a couple of runs. The Astros put up a 6 spot and put the game out of reach in a hurry.

Andrew Armstrong did his usual thing after he started a bit slow giving up a run early in the contest but that turned out to be the only run allowed on his behalf. He ended up throwing a complete game giving up just a hit & tallied 5 punchouts.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Tervell Johnson put the game out of reach with a pull side double to knock in two runs which ultimately proved to be the ending note for the East Cobb Astros. The Astros walked away with the trophy with an impressive 9 to 1 victory of Canes Southeast 17u.
